Joseph C. McCeney

President

Joe has been with CAPTEL since the doors opened in December, 1997.  Together with Phil Smith, he helped build the company from a one site, one political client fund raising operation to a company with three separate locations and 100 employees that provides membership development, fundraising and research assistance to national professional, business and medical associations, non-profit organizations, corporations and national political organizations.

Along the way Joe has focused his energies on using CAPTEL’s technology tools to match CAPTEL’s staff with client members in order to maximize client investment with CAPTEL.

Prior to working at CAPTEL, Joe served in senior direct marketing positions with the Republican National Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee.  He also served as a political appointee in the President George H. W. Bush Administration at the U. S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Export Administration.

A native Washingtonian, Joe spent four years in Boston earning a BS degree from Boston College before returning to Washington to earn an MBA from the George Washington University.

Joe lives in Alexandria, VA and is married with one grown son who graduated from Furman University, Greenville, SC in 2015.  He is a devoted father and husband who spends most of his free time with his family and biking on the Mt. Vernon, VA and DC bike trails.  He enjoys reading and learning history, listening to music – especially the Beatles, and following the Washington Nationals and Capitals.
